'NDA under Nitish Kumar's leadership will get biggest ever mandate in Bihar': Modi after MGB doubts JD(U) leader's future as CM
Samastipur/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday claimed the NDA government will return to power in Bihar under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's leadership, a day after Mahagathbandhan claimed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won't let the Janata Dal (United) supremo to become the CM again.

Addressing a rally in Samastipur, Modi listed several states where the BJP returned to power with a thumping majority battling anti-incumbency.
The list of states included Gujarat and Maharashtra.
"This time, in Bihar too, under the leadership of Nitish-babu, the NDA is set to break all its old records of victory. In these elections, Bihar will give the NDA its biggest ever mandate so far," the Prime Minister said.
Modi during his address reminded people of the RJD era of "extortion, murder, ransom, kidnapping" to appeal to the voters to re-elect the incumbent.
"RJD and Congress are only concerned about the political future of their own families. That's why today they are setting new records of lies in front of Bihar's youth... Where there is a party like RJD, law and order cannot exist there.
"During RJD's rule, extortion, murder, ransom, kidnapping... flourished here as an industry. RJD's jungle raj has ruined many generations of Bihar," said the PM, who is the prime campaigner for the BJP.
Tejashwi as well as Congress leader Pawan Khera doubted Nitish's continuation as the CM even if NDA gets re-elected citing Union Home Minister and BJP's poll strategist Amit Shah's recent remark where he said the MLAs would decide the Chief Minister.
The Mahagathbandhan challenged NDA to name its CM face at a time the opposition alliance announced Tejashwi as the runner for the post after prolonged delays and hectic parleys over infighting.
The name was announced by Congress leader Ashok Gahlot at a joint press conference.
Gahlot was on Thursday rushed to Patna by the Congress to diffuse tension within the opposition alliance after some assembly segments showed "friendly fights".
Gahlot, who is the senior election observer of Congress, met RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and Tejashwi Yadav.
The Congress leader assured that Mahagathbandhan is united.
The Bihar polls will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11. The results will be declared on November 14.
