CPI (M) organized mass protest at Khowai against vandalism of party office

Opposition CPI (M) on Tuesday organized a mass protest at Khowai town demanding arrest of all miscreants responsible for vandalisation of their divisional party office located in the Subhash Park area of town.
On October 5th midnight, a group of miscreants allegedly ransacked the CPI(M) divisional party office in Khowai town, but till today, none of the miscreants responsible for vandalism were arrested by police. In protest of the incident, CPI(M) strongly condemned the incident and organized a protest meeting at the South Park area.
After the protest rally, CPI (M) leaders addressed the gathering and speaking in the protest meeting, local MLA Nirmal Biswas condemned the attack and demanded strict action against the culprits.
He said that after 2018, when the present ruling party came to power, attacks on opposition party offices have continued across the state. The incident at the Khowai party office has once again intensified in 2023. The night before Lakshmi Puja, miscreants attacked the Subhash Park office and attempted to break open the door. The attackers threw stones and bricks at the office, damaging its door and chairs, said Biswas.
After the incident, the CPI (M) Subhash Park branch secretary lodged a written complaint at Khowai police station. The party also organized a protest meeting in the town demanding immediate arrest of the culprits. MLA Nirmal Biswas, along with others warned that such culture of violence and terror must stop immediately. They said, after 2018, following the change of government, violent attacks on opposition party offices have become rampant again.
He also said that if police are unable to arrest miscreants responsible for the attack on their party office, they will strengthen their stir against hooliganism sponsored by the ruling party.
