Amazon India hosts Seller Connect event to help SMBs gear up for festive season
E-commerce giant Amazon India has successfully hosted its annual Amazon Seller Connect event at JW Marriott in Kolkata with over 100 sellers from Kolkata, and provided them with a platform to engage and interact with its leadership, while covering different nuances of selling online with Amazon.

It comprised of leadership sessions, panel discussions, master classes, etc., to help sellers get ready for the upcoming festive season.
Key leaders and experts from Amazon India, shared essential insights to help the sellers meet the customer demands during the festive season.
The sellers shared their plans and exchanged ideas to optimize their sales strategies for the festive season.
Special training sessions and master classes were conducted to improve the understanding of sellers about various tools and features on Amazon.in that can help them achieve better sales and business growth.
Gaurav Bhatnagar, Director – Sales at Amazon India said “Amazon Seller Connect is a crucial initiative that strengthens our relationship with sellers, enhances our understanding of their needs, and enables us to help them prepare for the festive season. Recently, we have also announced significant reduction in selling fees, which will enable the sellers to expand their product portfolio on our marketplace and grow their business. We remain firmly invested and committed in the growth journey of our sellers, as they scale up their business operations to derive maximum benefits from e-commerce.”
Amazon India has rolled out several tools and features to help the sellers embrace e-commerce. The Self-Service Registration (SSR 2.0) simplifies the process for sellers to join the marketplace with its multi-language support, registration and invoicing.
The Sale Event Planner assists sellers in offering great deals during sales events and provides data-driven recommendations for inventory planning to boost sales. Additionally, the New Seller Success Center guides sellers step-by-step in setting up their online shops and utilizing features like Ads, Prime, and deals. Recently, it has upgraded the Seller Storefront on the Amazon.in mobile app, to allow the sellers to showcase their location (locality and city) and share their storefront, with the social shareability button, across platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram to drive more traffic. It has also launched the 1-Click ‘Local Shops on Amazon’ seller onboarding experience, which can help new sellers join the program through the mobile app via a single-click thereby enabling 2-day delivery within their city. To further support sellers, Amazon has enhanced the functionalities of Amazon Seller App, allowing sellers to manage and grow their businesses seamlessly from anywhere. The app enables users to handle coupons, deals and sponsored product campaigns while offering interactive business metrics for easy tracking and analysis of key performance indicators.
The selling fee reduction announced by Amazon, will be effective from September 9, 2024 onwards and will continue well beyond the festival season. It will provide an opportunity to the sellers to plan and optimize their operations in time for the festive season.
