The platform offers cab bookings for men, women and children, and says it is putting emphasis on rider safety and convenience. The company described itself as a companion for riders, which it said is the idea behind the name, and said it intends to serve people from different sections of society.
Actress Ankita Mallick, who spoke at the launch, said she had been associated with the brand from its early stages.
"I was associated with this brand from the very beginning. I really liked the idea of this app. All the best to Go Buddy and to this good initiative," she said. Mallick also pointed to the app's safety protocols and facilities, which she said are designed to make rides more secure.
Actor Om Sahani tied the launch to the festive season, when demand for cabs and late-evening travel typically rises.
"Puja is just around the corner, and such an app is being launched, which is very good for both boys and girls. It is very safe. So, all the best to the entire team," he said.
The company said the launch marks the start of its journey in the ride-hailing space, where it aims to combine technology, safety and accessibility to offer a more dependable travel experience. It did not disclose details on fares, fleet size, driver verification or the specific safety features in the announcement.
