Posting on Reddit, the techie said the couple work remotely from a small Indian town but do not consider themselves "rich yet."
Describing their financial position as "cash-flow rich but asset-poor," the user shared details of their investments and savings.
"We have Rs. 15 lakh worth of gold coins, Rs. 7 lakh worth of US stocks and Rs. 3 lakh in fixed deposits. No loans, parents' home, own car," the Redditor wrote.
"Excluding Rs. 70 lakh worth of gold jewellery. Health insurance of Rs. 10 lakh each and term insurance of Rs. 3 crore each," the post added.
Despite their strong income, the techie said the couple's biggest concern is building long-term wealth in an era where AI could dramatically reshape the job market.
"I want to build long-term wealth. The market is too brutal. I am a power AI user, and I know within five to six years most mainstream jobs will be obsolete," the user wrote.
The engineer said the goal is to build a financial safety net of Rs. 3-4 crore over the next five to six years.
Seeking investment advice, the Redditor said, "How should my investments be split? I am planning to buy 10 grams of gold every month, invest Rs. 2 lakh in fixed deposits, and put the remaining $1,500 into US stocks."
The user further explained why they remain anxious despite being among India's high earners.
"I know we're in the elite bracket of monthly earners, but what concerns me is sustainability. We both are software engineers, and the roles are already changing. Trust me, all big consultancy firms and service-based IT companies are going to collapse. Even SaaS companies won't sustain for long," the post read.
