The yatra, held across different parts of India, brought together people from diverse cultural, linguistic, social and spiritual backgrounds under the message “I Am Peace.”

According to the organisers, the initiative sought to convey the message that peace begins with the individual and can extend to families, communities and society.

‘From inner peace to world peace’

The central theme of the yatra was “Antarik Shanti Se Vishwa Shanti”, meaning “From Inner Peace to World Peace.”

The organisers said the campaign encouraged individuals to view peace not only as an aspiration for nations and societies but also as a personal responsibility.

Through peace walks, human chains, placards, dialogues and other collective activities, participants carried the message of “I Am Peace”, inspired by Prem Avaatar Maitreya Dadashreeji.

The highlight of the event was the launch of the World Peace Prayer, with the grace and blessings of Maitreya Dadashreeji. According to ABAS, the prayer aims to bring people together in a collective expression of peace, compassion and solidarity.

Participants from across communities

The yatra saw participation from children, students, professionals, families and senior citizens, along with representatives of social organisations, educational institutions and wellness communities.

The organisers said the initiative brought together people from different regions and communities while retaining their individual cultural identities.

The yatra was described as an effort to promote “unity without uniformity” and to encourage a shared commitment to peace.

While India remained at the centre of the initiative, the organisers said the “I Am Peace” movement has also reached more than 23 countries and 100 cities worldwide.

‘People have come together with one intention’

Speaking on the occasion, Mitra Prawesh, General Secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Adhyatmik Samiti, said the yatra reflected India's tradition of bringing together diverse communities.

“Bharat has always celebrated the many as one. The Vishwa Shanti Yatra is an expression of that timeless spirit. From one corner of the nation to another, people have come together and walked together with one intention - peace,” she said.

“When inner peace becomes the foundation of our thoughts, words and actions, it naturally begins to touch our families, our communities and the world. This is the spirit of ‘Antarik Shanti Se Vishwa Shanti’,” Prawesh added.

A prominent personality associated with the yatra said the simplicity of the message was one of the movement's key features.

“There is no complexity in the message - I Am Peace. Yet, when people from different regions, generations and backgrounds come together and carry the same intention, that simple message acquires a collective power,” the person said.

“Bharat has shown that its extraordinary diversity can become a beautiful expression of unity when we come together for humanity,” the person added.

The organisers said the Vishwa Shanti Yatra 2026 was non-political and faith-neutral, and was open to people irrespective of their background, beliefs, profession, age or community.

The initiative concluded with a call for individuals to embrace the messages “I Choose Peace” and “I Am Peace.”
