‘Exploitation normalised in politics’

In a strongly worded statement, Yadav claimed that the exploitation of women has become routine across sectors, including politics.

“Who is committing domestic violence? Who has evil eyes on women? From America to India, it is the politicians. 90% of women can't do politics without entering the room of male politicians.

“This happens daily. CCTV footage of politicians surface daily. Exploitation of women has become a culture,” he said.

BJP targets Congress over ‘silence’ on Yadav's remarks

The Bharatiya Janata Party seized on the remarks to attack the Congress and its allies, accusing them of hypocrisy on women’s issues.

Party spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla criticised the Congress leadership for not responding strongly.

Calling the party “anti-women,” he said, “Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who raises the slogan ‘Ladki Hoon, Lad Sakti Hoon’, remains silent on such remarks.”

He further alleged that the Congress and its allies have historically opposed women’s rights, referencing their stance on the women’s reservation bill.
