After Baba Siddique's murder, arrested shooters reveal his son Zeeshan was on hit list too

The shooters have confessed to the cops that they were given a contract to kill both Baba Siddique and Zeeshan, media reports said.

As per the police, the shooters were told both the father and the son would be present at the murder spot on Saturday evening.

However, the shooters told the police that in case they did not get a chance to attack the father and son together, the shooters were ordered to kill whoever they could find first, NDTV quoting sources reported.

Zeeshan Siddique, a Congress MLA from Vandre East, was expelled by the party months ago after instances of cross-voting during the legislative council elections.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang on Sunday claimed responsibility for the murder of Baba Siddique, who was shot dead by three men during Dussehra.

Now, the gang has left a message, which is subject to verification, for Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who was close to Siddique.

One of the gang members shared a post on Facebook where he hinted at Siddique's close ties with Salman and links to underworld people that cost him his life.

The Facebook post reads, "Salman Khan, we did not want this war but you are the reason behind the harm to our brother. We have no enmity towards anyone but whoever helps Salman Khan or Dawood gang should be ready for the consequences."

"The cause of his death is Anuj Thapan and linking Dawood to Bollywood, politics and property dealing," the post added.

After Siddique, an ex-Maharashtra minister and former Congress leader, was shot dead, Salman had visited him first at the hospital and then went to his residence.

Mumbai Police have also increased security around Salman Khan's residence, where a previous shooting incident occurred.

On the night of April 14, gunfire shook Mumbai's Bandra neighbourhood when two men on motorbikes fired multiple rounds outside Salman Khan's residence.

The attackers, linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, were charged with conspiracy to murder and other serious crimes.

The 66-year-old NCP leader was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan Siddique's office in Bandra East, Mumbai, on Saturday night.

The attack occurred around 9:30 pm when assailants opened fire, targeting Siddique and his associate, with multiple bullets fatally hitting the politician in the chest. A few hours later, the infamous Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the assassination in a social media post.

The three men who shot dead Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique threw chilli powder at police officers and also carried pepper spray as a part of the assassination plan, media reports said.

Among the three, two men- Gurmel Baljit Singh from Haryana and Dharmaraj Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh- have been arrested.

The third accused- Shivkumar Gautam- is on the run.
