Bullets fired at YouTuber Elvish Yadav’s Gurugram home; police probe gangster link
Gurugram: Unidentified gunmen opened fire outside the Gurugram residence of controversial YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav early on Sunday morning.

Police said the incident occurred between 5.30 and 6 am, when three bike-borne assailants unleashed more than two dozen rounds at Yadav’s house in Sector 57 before fleeing.
The bullets struck the ground and first floors of the property, India Today reported.
Yadav, who lives on the second and third floors, was not present at the time. His caretaker and family members were inside during the attack, but no one was injured.
“Three masked miscreants opened fire outside the residence of YouTuber and Big Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav in Gurugram’s Sector 57. The incident took place at around 5.30 am. More than a dozen rounds were fired. Elvish Yadav was not at his residence at the time of the firing,” Sandeep Kumar, PRO of Gurugram Police was quoted as saying by India Today.
Officers rushed to the scene, collected forensic evidence and began scanning CCTV footage.

Police confirmed that legal action has been initiated and that further steps will follow once a formal complaint from the family is lodged.
Yadav’s father said the family had received no prior threats.
“We were sleeping when the attackers came on a motorcycle and started firing. There were three masked men. One was sitting on the bike, while the other two stepped down and opened fire at the house. They fired around 25 to 30 rounds and fled the scene. Elvish did not receive any threats before the incident. He is currently out of the city for his work,” he said, reported India Today.
Shortly after the attack, a post surfaced on social media claiming responsibility. It alleged that two gangsters based abroad—Himanshu Bhau and Neeraj Faridpuria—had carried out the firing in retaliation for Yadav’s alleged promotion of illegal betting apps.
The post, featuring an image of two guns and the text “BHAU GANG SINCE 2020”, read: “Today, the firing at ELVISH YADAV’s house was carried out by NEERAJ FARIDPUR and BHAU RITOLIYA. This is our introduction. Anyone promoting betting should be warned—calls or bullets can come their way [sic].”
Elvish Yadav, 27, rose to fame through YouTube before winning Bigg Boss OTT 2 in 2023. He commands a massive online following and has also appeared in music videos and films.
But the YouTuber has frequently found himself in controversy. Last year, he was arrested by Noida Police in a case involving the alleged use of snake venom at rave parties.
Police alleged the cobra venom was being supplied as a recreational drug, with Yadav accused of facilitating the arrangements. He was later granted bail but continues to face charges in the case.
