I feel sorry for RSS and BJP people, their only job is to lay red carpet for leaders coming from other parties: Arvind Kejriwal

He slammed the BJP for welcoming corrupt leaders, once labeled as the ‘most corrupt’ by PM Modi, and halting corruption cases against them.

The AAP supremo lamented the erosion of democracy, likening it to a betrayal of Bhagat Singh and Chandrasekhar Azad’s legacy, and warned that the BJP is desperately manipulating voter lists to cover their imminent defeat in Delhi.

Taking up the issue of ED and CBI being discussed in the House, AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal said he had written a letter to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat four-five days ago and talked about five issues.

One of the questions was does Mohan Bhagwat agree with the way Prime Minister Modi is inducting the most corrupt leaders of this country into his party by scaring them with ED and CBI or luring them with money, by breaking them from other parties.

The AAP national convenor said PM Modi, Amit Shah, and BJP called those leaders most corrupt a few days ago, and after a few days, they inducted them into their party. On 27 June 2023, the Prime Minister said that Ajit Pawar is accused of a scam of Rs 70,000 crore and we will send him to jail. And after 5 days on July 2, he was included in his government and made Deputy Chief Minister.

Kejriwal said, “I want to ask them (BJP) if they feel ashamed. Well, all of us are bad, but your Prime Minister accuses a man of corruption worth Rs 70,000 crores on 27th June and after 5 days on 2nd July makes him his deputy CM. How do you face people at home, in your colony and how will you face the whole world that you are in such a party. On 22nd July 2015, the BJP of Assam said that Himanta Biswa Sarma is a very corrupt person. After one month on 23rd August 2015, he was inducted into the party (BJP) and the CBI case against him was shelved.”

“PM Modi has 25 such gems, which he has carefully collected from other parties. They are very close to Modi Ji. Modi Ji cleaned all the filth (corruption charges) on them, washed (put on the backburner) all their cases,” he added.

"Ajit Pawar belonged to NCP, he had cases of EOW and ED against him, and Modi ji got both the cases closed. Praful Patel was a leader of NCP, he had cases of CBI and ED against him, both the cases were closed by Modi ji and the Prime Minister inducted him in his party. Pratap Sarnaik was a leader of Shiv Sena, he had cases of ED and EOW against him, both the cases were closed by Modi ji and he was inducted in the BJP," he said.

"I take more pity on the RSS people as now they do not get tickets (in election), rather tickets are given to the people brought from the other parties (turncoats). Their job is only to spread the carpet (make arrangements for the meeting) for those who defected from the Congressmen, the NCP or the Shiv Sena to join the BJP, because they never get a ticket," he said.

The AAP National Convenor said apart from this, they (BJP) toppled many governments. From March 2016 to March 2024, Prime Minister Modi tried to topple 13 state governments 15 times.

“Out of that, he succeeded in toppling 10 governments. These governments were not toppled, rather these governments were stolen. These people have stolen those governments by sending ED and CBI, threatening them, luring them and buying them with money,” he said.
