In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Singh was quoted as saying by ANI: "With regard to Pakistan, since 2021, the government of India has raised at least 334 major incidents with the government of Pakistan, urging it to discharge its constitutional obligations towards its citizens, including those from minority communities, and to end sectarian violence, extreme prejudices and religious intolerance."

Bangladesh has witnessed a spike in attacks on Hindus ever since the former PM Sheikh Hasina-led government was ousted from power on August 5, 2024 amid severe protests against her government.

Recently, Bangladesh marked its first anniversary of Hasina's ouster a few days back.

Several Hindu houses, temples and shops were vandalised during the period.

After Awami League was removed from power, the political outfit, led by Hasina, has been banned from contesting polls.
