“The weapon used in the crime suggests there may be a larger conspiracy behind the murder. This could be an attack on the very soul of the BJP or an attempt to disturb the law-and-order situation ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state for the swearing-in ceremony,” a BJP leader said.

“What is evident, however, is that there is complete anarchy in the state and the Constitution appears to have ceased functioning in spirit.”
The leader also appealed for calm among party workers.

“I appeal to all BJP workers to maintain peace and restraint because the people have voted for us with the hope of ending this cycle of violence and restoring normalcy,” the statement added.
