Mumbai Anti-Narcotics Cell summons Orry after accused drug trafficker names him in ₹252-crore MD case
Social media personality and Bollywood fixture Orhan Awatramani, better known as Orry, has been summoned by the Mumbai Police Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) for questioning in a ₹252 crore mephedrone (MD) trafficking investigation, media reports said.
His name surfaced during the interrogation of a recently arrested accused who alleged Orry attended parties where drug use was suspected.
The probe began in March 2024, when Mumbai Police busted a large-scale MD manufacturing unit on a farm in Sangli district and seized over 126 kg of the drug.
The case escalated after the November 2025 deportation and arrest of Mohammad Salim Mohammad Suhail Shaikh, also known as Salim Shaikh or Lavish, from Dubai.
Shaikh is believed to be close to fugitive drug kingpin Salim Dola—linked to the Dawood Ibrahim syndicate—and his son Taher. Investigators say the operation involved moving drugs in luxury cars and laundering money through hawala networks.
During questioning, Shaikh claimed he organised high-profile rave parties in India and abroad for celebrities, fashion figures, politicians, and other public personalities.
He reportedly named Orry, actors Nora Fatehi and Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhant Kapoor, filmmaker duo Abbas-Mustan, politician Zeeshan Siddique, and claimed Alishah Parkar, Dawood Ibrahim’s nephew, attended some gatherings.
Where does Orry stand in the case?
Police have said the individuals named by Shaikh are being summoned only to verify his statements and determine whether they have any role or relevant information. Orry has not been charged. He has been asked to appear before the ANC’s Ghatkopar unit to record his statement.
As he was out of Mumbai during the initial summons, he has requested a fresh date after November 25, and officials are reviewing the request.
This is not Orry’s first brush with law enforcement—he was booked by Jammu & Kashmir Police in March 2024 for allegedly consuming alcohol in a prohibited zone of a pilgrimage area.
Who is Orry?
Orry, or Orhan Awatramani, is a Mumbai-based influencer known for his close proximity to Bollywood’s star kids, including Janhvi Kapoor, Nysa Devgan, Sara Ali Khan, and others.
Son of businessman Suraj K. Awatramani, Orry is often seen at high-profile events and is known for his bold fashion choices and a luxury-heavy online persona.
He studied at Parsons School of Design in New York and has worked on projects in fashion, branding, and design.
His cryptic “mysterious profession”, famously joking that he is a “liver”, has only added to his cult-like internet presence.
