Among the successful candidates, Anita Deora, the daughter of a farmer from Bhopalgarh in Rajasthan, secured the 644th rank, earning a place in the IAS and bringing pride to her hometown and the wider Jodhpur district.
Anita hails from a farming family, and her mother played a pivotal role in supporting her education.
Despite managing agricultural work, she ensured Anita could continue her studies, provided financial assistance, and even helped her move to Delhi for higher education.
Civil service aspirations run in her family. Anita’s uncle, Chetan Devda, is a retired IAS officer, while other relatives serve as senior railway officials, Additional District Magistrates (ADMs), professors, and village development officers.
Her journey began after topping her Class 12 board examinations, which inspired her to pursue the civil services.

Through consistent hard work and determination, she achieved her goal of becoming an IAS officer, a success that has sparked celebrations across Bhopalgarh and Jodhpur district.
Anita studied at Saini School in Bhopalgarh, where she also topped the block-level Class 12 board exams.
The UPSC interviews, or personality tests, were conducted in January 2026 at the commission’s headquarters at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi, and carry 275 marks.

According to the official notice, the commission has withheld the results of two candidates, and the results of 348 recommended candidates are provisional.

This year’s toppers include Anuj Agnihotri, a doctor from Kota, who secured the first rank on his third attempt, crediting a mix of preparation and luck for his success.
