Samajwadi Party's Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad's son Ajit Prasad booked for 'kidnapping, threatening, assaulting' realtor
Lucknow/IBNS: Samajwadi Party Lok Sabha MP Awadhesh Prasad's son Ajit Prasad has been booked for allegedly kidnapping, threatening and assaulting a realtor, drawing sharp criticism from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, media reports said.
The complaint has been lodged by local property dealer Ravi Tiwari, who has alleged that Ajit along with one Raju Yadav and 15-20 others, met him near SBI branch in Faizabad on Saturday.
He was allegedly dragged into a car and was driven towards Raqaabganj. Ravi claimed he was being thrashed all along the journey.
Ravi, who filed a complaint at Kotwali Police Station, alleged Rs. 1 lakh was snatched from him, the incident was video recorded and was threatened to get killed.
The alleged victim claimed he was making a land deal between Ajit Prasad and local landowner Sheetla Prasad.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Awadhesh Prasad has emerged as a key MP of the SP after Akhilesh Yadav's party defeated the BJP in Uttar Pradesh's Faizabad which locates Ayodhya's Ram Mandir, a poll issue of the saffron camp.
Training his guns at the SP, BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya posted on X, "Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad, whom Akhilesh Yadav is holding close to his heart these days, his son Ajit Prasad “kidnapped” Ravi Tiwari and “beat him up”.
"As soon as SP won some seats, the incidents of rape and hooliganism are showing no signs of halt. This is a proof of the SP's goondaism culture."
