TMC MP Mahua Moitra ties knot with BJD leader Pinaki Misra in Germany

New Delhi/IBNS: Two-term fiery Trinamool Congress (TMC) Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra has tied the knot with former Biju Janata Dal (BJD) parliamentarian Pinaki Misra away from media glares in Berlin, Germany on May 30, media reports said.
Moitra, who is known for her fiery speeches against the Modi government, represents the Krishnanagar Lok Sabha constituency in West Bengal.
Misha, a senior advocate in the Supreme Court, had won from Puri in 1996 on a Congress ticket.
In 2009, he returned to the Lok Sabha winning from Puri again but on BJD's ticket.
After serving three consecutive terms in the Lok Sabha from Puri, the 65-year-old had dropped out of the poll battle in 2024.

Moitra, who started her electoral politics in 2016 winning from Karimpur assembly constituency in West Bengal, was embroiled in 'cash-for-query' row in 2023.
The 50-year-old was expelled from the Lok Sabha after she was accused of asking questions on businessman Gautam Adani in exchange for money.
However, she stormed back to the Lok Sabha winning by a big margin from the same constituency, Krishnanagar, in 2024.
Moitra, a former investment banker, was earlier married to Danish financier Lars Brorson, whom she had divorced.
She was later in a relationship with advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai for three years.
After Dehadrai had sent a letter to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey alleging Moitra received bribes from businessman Darshan Hiranandani, the Krishnanagar MP had called her former boyfriend "a jilted ex".
On the other hand, Misra has a son and a daughter from his previous marriage.
