NFR operates extensive network of summer special trains
Guwahati: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is actively operating a range of special trains during the summer season to accommodate the increased passenger traffic and ensure convenient travel. Special services have been provided between key routes including SMVT Bengaluru – Narangi, Dibrugarh – Kolkata, SSS Hubballi – Katihar, Silchar – Kolkata, Guwahati – Shri Ganganagar, New Jalpaiguri – Ayodhya Cantt, Kamakhya – Anand Vihar Terminal, Katihar – Amritsar, New Tinsukia – SMVT Bengaluru and Anand Vihar Terminal – Jogbani. Additional train services are also operating between Howrah – New Jalpaiguri, Sealdah – Jagirod, Udaipur City – Forbesganj, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus – Narangi, and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – Guwahati.
To maintain order and ensure the safety of passengers amidst the summer rush, NFR deployed Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel specifically for crowd management. Continuous monitoring through CCTV surveillance has been enforced at major stations over NFR. Additionally, commercial staff of NFR have been actively engaged and placed on high alert to manage passenger flow effectively and provide necessary assistance.
Understanding the continuing rise in passenger demand, NFR is also planning to introduce more summer special trains in future. This proactive approach aims to cater to the needs of travellers and provide additional convenience during peak travel periods.
Northeast Frontier Railway reaffirms its commitment to ensuring a safe, smooth and comfortable journey for all passengers. With continued focus on service enhancement and passenger welfare, NFR strives to deliver the highest standards of railway operations during this busy season.
