Alia Bhatt announces new film ‘Don’t Be Shy’ as producer with Amazon Prime Video
Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood star Alia Bhatt on Friday announced her next project as a producer, titled Don’t Be Shy.
The film will be produced in collaboration with Amazon Prime Video, with Alia Bhatt and her sister Shaheen Bhatt helming the project under their banner, Eternal Sunshine Production.
The announcement was made through a light-hearted video shared on social media, showing the Bhatt sisters exhausted after reading multiple action-heavy scripts before finally choosing one centred on romance, heartbreak and music.
“A story to grow up with,” read the caption accompanying the video on Instagram.
Written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, the coming-of-age romantic comedy will introduce four new faces and revolves around a 20-year-old girl named Shyamili Das, also known as Shy, who believes her life is perfectly planned until unexpected changes alter her path.
Don’t Be Shy marks Alia’s latest collaboration with Prime Video. Earlier, she served as executive producer on the web series Poacher. Her last feature film as a producer was Jigra, which starred Vedang Raina and explored a story of sibling love.
On the acting front, Alia Bhatt will next be seen in Alpha, slated for release this year, followed by Love & War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, expected to hit theatres next year.
