The couple completed the formalities on Friday at the Sub-Registrar's office in Mapusa, North Goa, in the presence of close friends.

The marriage was registered under Goa's Uniform Civil Code, Sub-Registrar Suraj Vernekar told PTI.

Rampal and Demetriades, who currently live in Succoro village near Panaji, arrived at the registrar's office around 4 pm dressed in casual attire.

Special permission granted for marriage formalities

According to Vernekar, the couple had obtained special permission from the Assistant Public Prosecutor of the local court to waive the mandatory 15-day waiting period between the first and second signatures required under local law.

The marriage certificate, however, will be handed over to the couple after 15 days, the official said.

Demetriades, a South African national, has been in a relationship with Rampal since 2018. The couple has two sons, Arik, born in 2019, and Ariv, born in 2023.

Gabriella's bond with Rampal's daughters

Gabriella has also spoken openly about her relationship with Rampal's daughters, Mahikaa and Myra, from his previous marriage to former supermodel Mehr Jesia.

In a recent conversation with Rhea Chakraborty, Gabriella said the two girls had been "amazing through everything" and that there had never been any pressure on them to accept her.

She said the family had allowed the relationship to develop naturally, adding that Mahikaa and Myra were "fun, lovely girls."

Rampal and Jesia, who married in 1998, announced their separation in 2018 and finalised their divorce in 2019.

The actor has previously said that they continue to co-parent their daughters amicably.

From engagement to marriage

Rampal confirmed his engagement to Gabriella during their appearance on Rhea Chakraborty's podcast in December last year.

During the conversation, Gabriella had said, "We are not married now, but who knows?"

Rampal then surprised her and the host by revealing, "We are engaged... We just broke it on your show."

The couple has now taken the next step by formally registering their marriage in Goa.

On the professional front, Rampal recently earned praise for his portrayal of Major Iqbal in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar, adding another notable performance to his film career.
