According to Variety, the film will return to theatres with additional scenes, although details about the new footage are being kept under wraps.
The re-release date has not yet been announced.
Released on July 31, the film has grossed $2.49 billion at the domestic box office, making it the third-highest-grossing film of all time, behind 2009’s “Avatar” ($2.92 billion) and 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame” ($2.88 billion). It ranks ahead of 2022’s “Avatar: The Way of Water” ($2.3 billion) and 1997’s “Titanic” ($2.2 billion).
The film follows Peter Parker as he attempts to rebuild his life after a spell causes his friends and family to forget who he is.
Alongside Holland, the cast includes Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo, Tramell Tillman and Florence Pugh.
