India should sever cricketing ties with Pakistan: Sourav Ganguly after Pahalgam terror attack
Kolkata/IBNS: Former Indian cricket captain and ex-BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly has said his country should break all cricketing ties with Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack.
Speaking to the reporters, Ganguly said, "India must break cricketing ties with Pakistan, one hundred percent. Strict actions must be taken. It's not a joke that such attacks take place every year or so."
On the Indian cricket board BCCI's decision to ask the International Cricket Council (ICC) to not place India and Pakistan in the same group in the global tournament, the cricket legend said, "It will be the right step. Terrorism cannot be tolerated."

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajeev Shukla has asserted India will continue to not play any bilateral cricket match against Pakistan.
Indian broadcasters Sony Sports India and Fancode have stopped the coverage of Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 tourists, mostly Hindus, in the popular tourist spot of Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.
Sony Sports India, which is the official television partner of PSL, has cancelled all scheduled matches and related studio shows.
Fancode, the official digital broadcaster of the cricket league, has not just stopped the coverage but also removed all content related to PSL from its platform.
The terror attack, which has drawn widespread condemnation from the world leaders, has led India and its arch-rival Pakistan to a fresh confrontation, a major one since the Pulwama terror attack which was backed by Pakistan-based militant group, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in 2019.
After several diplomatic strikes on Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday promised a retaliation and said the terrorists and their backers will pay unimaginable costs for the attack on innocent tourists.
Addressing a rally in Bihar's Madhubani, Modi said: "From the soil of Bihar I tell the whole world that India will identify them and punish every terrorist and their backers. We will pursue them to the end of the earth. India's spirit will never be broken by terrorism. Terrorism will not go unpunished."
