The Directorate of Skill Development of Tripura government, successfully organized a distribution programme under the Mukhya Mantri Dakshata Unnayan Prakalpa (MMDUP), during which 100 sewing machines, certificates, and offer letters were handed over to successful women trainees from North Zone (Ward No. 5), Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) in presence of Mayor Dipak Majumder.
The initiative aims to strengthen women's economic empowerment, promote self-employment, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities through skill development.
A total of 100 women beneficiaries successfully completed the 50-day (300-hour) Sewing Machine Tailor Training Programme and received sewing machines, training certificates, and offer letters in pvt. organization. Each trainee was provided with a Rs 2,000 stipend and refreshment support during the training. The initiative promotes self-employment, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities in private organizations.
A total of 380 women beneficiaries across all four zones of Agartala Municipal Corporation have successfully completed the training. 200 toolkits have been distributed in the North and South Zones, while the remaining 180 sewing machines will be distributed shortly in the Central & East Zone.
The programme reflects the government of Tripura's continued commitment, under the leadership of the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, to implementing demand-driven skill development programmes that equip women with employable skills and promote financial independence.
The Directorate of Skill Development appreciated the support of the Agartala Municipal Corporation, training partners, instructors, and all officials involved in the successful implementation of the programme and reaffirmed its commitment to building a skilled, self-reliant, empowered, and prosperous Tripura through inclusive skill development initiatives.
