A mental health awareness workshop at NLU, Tripura
A Mental Health awareness workshop was organized on Thursday by Centre for Public Health Law, NLU, Tripura under the aegis of National Health Mission Tripura.
The workshop aimed to promote awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage open discussions about mental health issues, emphasizing the importance of early intervention and support.
Dr. Dipayan Sarkar, Modern Psychiatric Hospital spoke on overall Mental health and various forms of anxiety, depression and disorder and symptoms. Experts also conducted interactive sessions, addressing myths surrounding mental health, self-care strategies, and the importance of seeking timely professional help. Ms. Jina Debbarma, Tele manas counsellor explained about Tele MANAS is a toll-free helpline in Tripura (14416 or 18008914416) that offers mental health counselling and care services. It is part of the National Tele Mental Health Programme (NTMHP). Ms. Tina Chakraborty conducted a brief session on mental health exercise. Students, faculty and staff participated in the question-answer session.
