A new chapter began in the Tripura BJP on Friday as Abhishek Debroy formally assumed charge as the party’s state president at the BJP headquarters in Krishnanagar area of Agartala.

The responsibility was officially handed over in the presence of Tripura BJP in-charge Rajdeep Roy, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and outgoing state president and MP (Rajya Sabha) Rajib Bhattacharjee.

A festive atmosphere prevailed at the party office as ministers, MLAs, leaders from different mandals and a large number of BJP workers and supporters gathered to welcome the newly elected president with bouquets and garlands.

After taking charge, Abhishek Debroy said that strengthening and further organizing the party would be his top priority. He stressed the need to reinforce the organization from the booth level while maintaining coordination between young workers and senior leaders. He also expressed confidence that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Chief Minister Manik Saha, the BJP in Tripura would continue to grow stronger.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha praised outgoing president Rajib Bhattacharjee for strengthening the party organization and expressed confidence that Abhishek Debroy would successfully carry forward that legacy. He also highlighted Debroy’s organizational journey from being a booth president in Kakraban to becoming the state BJP president.

Outgoing president Rajib Bhattacharjee said that Debroy’s rise from booth president to state president reflects the BJP’s organizational culture. He expressed hope that under the new leadership, the party would emerge stronger in the days ahead.
