Admission process in 28 govt degree colleges start through online, intake increases at 31, 954

The admission process to all  government General Degree colleges of Tripura has begun from May 23rd through online and the admission process for the first round will continue up to May 30th next, said  Special Secretary of Higher Education department, Ravel Hemendra Kumar.

Addressing a press conference at Civil Secretariat on Tuesday afternoon, Kumar along with Director of the department said that the merit list for the first round of admission will be released at the department’s website and all admission processes to be completed through ‘Samarth’ portal.

He said that like previous year, the Higher Education department has taken initiative to start the admission process for 25 government degree colleges along with 3 new colleges as well under-graduate BA programmes to be introduced in IASE, Kunjaban and CTE, Kumarghat.

He said that this year three new government degree colleges has been started in Korbook, Ambassa and Kakraban and steps have been take by the department by introducing UG programme in BA at IASE, Kunjaban in Agartala and CTE, Kumarghat from the academic session 2025-26, which makes these two institutions multi-disciplinary.

Kumar said that during academic year 2024-25,  total intake capacity for admission in first semester was 31, 379 and after establishing three new government degree colleges and introducing multiple discipline at IASE, Kunjaban and CTE, Kumarghat, the total intake increased by 575, which make the overall intake for the present  academic session is  31, 954.

Kumar said that all admission process c=would be completed through online and now offline application will be accepted  and merit list will be prepared by the respective college as per the intake capacity declared by the colleges maintaining the state reservation policy and list will be uploaded to the college website.

Online application process for admission in all degree colleges in Tripura started on May 23rd and will continue up to May 30th , 2025 up to midnight 12 PM.

The Director of the department, Animesh Debbarma said that the merit list for admission in first round will be published at respective websites of colleges on June 11th next and for admission during 2nd round will be done on June 19th.

The Special secretary of Higher Education said that the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT) Narsingarh will be developed as a Technical University and Women’s College of Agartala will also convert into a Women University and the government has already started works for conversion.
