The Agartala police on Sunday arrested one accused person allegedly involved in Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) exam paper leak case.

Giving details officer-in-charge (OC) of West Agartala police station, Paritosh Das said that the arrested accused namely Chayan Saha(42) of Advisor Chowmuhani area of the city. Earlier, on Saturday one ADC authority, Pradip Debbarma filed an FIR against two persons, Sujoy Ghosh and Chayan Saha for examination paper leak of SZDO and DPO recruitment. The examination was to be held on June 9th, which was duly postponed.

Paritosh Das said that Board chairman, Data Mohan Jamatia had given a photocopy of the answer key to local photocopy shop owner, Chayan Saha and after primary investigation, police on Sunday arrested him.

The OC added that the FIR under section 120B, 480,420 and 381 of IPC has been lodged and they initiated a search operation to arrest another accused.

It may be recalled here that on June 8th, the answer key was uploaded to various social media, leading the authority to postpone the recruitment process just a day before the exams were scheduled to be conducted on Sunday and  arrested photocopy shop owner, Chayan Saha has allegedly distributed the answer key in lieu of amount.

He said that the council had advertised for recruitment in 110 vacant posts of Sub-Zonal Development Officer (SZDO) and Deputy Principal Officer (DPO) positions in the Council.

Around 26,000 job aspirants are scheduled to sit for the examination in various centers across the state.

“We were hundred percent prepared to conduct the competitive examination for recruitment scheduled on Sunday. Examination center in-charges, coordinators, invigilators, observers were ready to conduct the exam but on Saturday evening we came to know that the answer keys were leaked.

Due to these unavoidable circumstances, the examination has been postponed for the time being,” the CEM told the media on Saturday night.

He also said the TTAADC administration would announce the new dates for recruitment examinations after deciding the same in the next ten days.
