On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026, the Radhanagar Battalion of Assam Rifles organised a Women’s Health and Wellness Lecture-cum-Medical Camp at the Badarpur Farmer Producer Company in Karimganj district of Assam and at Radhanagar in Unakoti district of Tripura to spread awareness on women’s health and promote preventive healthcare practices.
During the programme, experts delivered lectures on several important health issues affecting women. The sessions covered topics such as balanced diet, lifestyle diseases, and nutritional deficiencies including anaemia and goitre, along with their prevention and treatment. Awareness was also raised on cervical cancer screening, HPV vaccination, and breast cancer screening for early detection and timely treatment.
The awareness programme aimed to educate women about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and recognising early symptoms of common health conditions so that they can seek timely medical consultation and care.
As part of the initiative, a health check-up camp for women and children was also organised. Medical examinations were conducted and free medicines were distributed among the beneficiaries.
The initiative highlighted the continued commitment of the Assam Rifles towards community welfare, women’s empowerment and healthcare awareness, while encouraging women to prioritise preventive healthcare and regular medical screening.
