Assam Rifles seizes narcotics worth Rs. 12.5 crore in Jiribam
Acting on specific intelligence inputs related to drug trafficking, Assam Rifles launched a joint operation with the Manipur Police and CRPF in Jiribam on December 6, 2025.
During the operation, the team successfully intercepted a narcotics consignment being transported in a Toyota Fortuner. A total of 50,000 WY/R tablets (Yaba), estimated to be worth approximately Rs. 12.5 crore, were recovered from the vehicle.
Two individuals found in possession of the contraband along with mobile handsets were apprehended on the spot. They were later handed over to the Jiribam Police for further legal action.
The operation underscores the unwavering commitment of Assam Rifles in combating NDPS-related activities and safeguarding the region from the growing menace of narcotics.
