Big marble tiles slip during unloading, one labourer died, another critically injured

In a tragic accident, a labourer from Bihar state died on the spot and another sustained critical injury during unloading of marble tiles Kalkaliya area of Bishalgarh under Sepahijala district on Friday.

Police sources said that a group of labourers from ‘Tripura Sundari Enterprise’ of Bishalgarh loaded marbles and tiles in a good carrying vehicle to deliver the consignment to a house, located at Kalkaliya area under the same subdivision.

During unloading of the big size marbles and tiles at that house, all of sudden some marbles and tiles started slipping and directly fell under the bodies of two labourers.

Immediately, with help of other labourers, firefighters shifted both of the critically injured labourers to Bishalgarh subdivision hospital, where a visiting doctor declared among one was brought dead, identified as Jaharup Kumar Shaw of Bihar. While, another injured labour was admitted in hospital.

Police added that they have initiated an investigation and shifted the body of deceased labour at Bishalgarh hospital morgue for autopsy.
