The Agartala city police on Sunday handed over 27 stolen motorbikes to its actual owners after these mobile phones were recovered by Central Equipment Identity Register [CEIR] and West Agartala police station from thieves.

Giving details of SP of West Tripura district, Namit Pathak said  that after receiving different complaints of theft in different areas under West Agartala police station, they registered specific complaints and GD Entry after mobile owners lost their phones.

Based on the on complaints, during investigation, police managed to recover 5 smart mobile phones within three months of GD Entry and 22 more smart mobile phones were recoevered  through Central Equipment Identity Register [CEIR].

He said that recently the cases of cyber fraud has been increased and police forces are working round the clock to alert people against cyber fraud and has also been taking action against such criminal.

He said that mobile phone owners expressed their happiness after getting their stolen phones within a short span.

While, police said that soon after receiving any information related to theft, they swung into action and most of the times; they managed to recover stolen items and handed over these to its actual owners after court order.
