CM congratulates new Speaker Rampada Jamatia
New Speaker will uphold democracy, impartiality: CM
Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday congratulated MLA Rampada Jamatia on his election as the new Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that his tenure would be memorable and cherished by the people.
On the fourth day of the Budget Session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, MLA Rampada Jamatia was unanimously elected as the Speaker. He replaces the former Speaker, the late Bishwabandhu Sen.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Saha said, “I am very happy. Today, MLA Rampada Jamatia has assumed the prestigious position of Speaker of the august Legislative Assembly. The most significant aspect is that he was elected unanimously. He also delivered a very impressive speech in Hindi in the House today. It seems that the atmosphere in the Legislative Assembly has completely changed.”
The Chief Minister further stated, “We are delighted to have such a capable Speaker in all respects. The Legislative Assembly is a seat of impartiality and democracy, where one must rise above politics. Everyone has emphasized this. I am confident that he will discharge his duties and responsibilities effectively. On my personal behalf and as the Leader of the House, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to him. I hope that in the coming days, he will perform in such a manner that people will always remember him as a distinguished Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly.”
