Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Monday said that Tripura Civil Service (TCS) officers are coming forward with social responsibility along with performing their administrative duties properly and everyone should extend a helping hand to all with a humanitarian perspective.

Dr Saha said this while participating in the winter clothes distribution programme organised by the Tripura Civil Service Officers Association in Ward No. 39 of AD Nagar.

At the event, Dr Saha said that various activities have been carried out at different times in Ward No. 39.

“Today is Swami Vivekananda's birthday. Today’s programme has started by paying tribute to him. Every word of Swamiji motivates us and inspires us to move forward. He has especially inspired the youth to progress. Today’s winter clothes distribution programme by the Tripura Civil Service Officers Association is a very good initiative. They always feel the urge to do something for the people. During disasters, they donated about Rs 14 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, which is very commendable,” he said.

He said that TCS officers have also extended a helping hand for the education of poor children and by organising voluntary blood donation camps.

“They are working for the people at the block, sub-divisional, district and state levels. Apart from their own work, people are also witnessing the work they are doing for others, and this is desirable. They are proving this through their actions every time,” Dr. Saha said.

Dr Saha said that those who will receive winter clothes here today, along with everyone present, will remember this initiative of the Tripura Civil Service Officers Association for the rest of their lives. This social initiative will also inspire other organisations and institutions.

“It is not possible for the government to do everything alone. Therefore, when such organizations come forward for humanitarian work, it is also beneficial for the government. We should work with the mindset of helping people without thinking about what we will get in return. This will give us a sense of satisfaction. Everyone should extend a helping hand to everyone. Through this, the Prime Minister’s idea of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas will be realised,” he said.

The event was attended by Tripura Civil Service Officers Association General Secretary Ashim Saha, prominent social worker Shyamal Kumar Deb, Municipal Corporation Corporator Alok Roy, and others.
