CM urges holistic education, values, and meditation for students
Tripura Government prioritizes quality education for students: CM
Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Friday said that the government is working to improve the quality of education in the state and those students, who are the future of the nation, must be provided with proper education.
He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized building a new India by relying on youth power.
Dr Saha said this while inaugurating the Platinum Jubilee program of Udaipur Ramesh XII Class School on Friday under Gomati district.
Speaking at the program, Dr Saha said, “We are going to build a new Tripura. We want to establish Tripura in the future with the Thansa that includes all the jaati, janajati, Manipuris, and minorities of Tripura. Today's young children are the leaders of the future. The country and the state are moving forward rapidly under the Double Engine government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Although the opposition is still repeating some memorized slogans as usual, these old sayings are no longer valid.”
He added that today is a very important day as this Ramesh School started its journey on this day. This Ramesh School is one of the many renowned schools in the state of Tripura.
“Naturally, we should remember the quality, prestige, and history of this school. Ramesh Chandra Dutta established this school on January 2, 1951. Later, his son Dhirendra Chandra Dutta took the school forward. Both father and son worked hard for the overall development of the school and to establish it. Later, the government extended its support for the development of the school. Till now, there are about 42 government-aided schools in the state. This is also a government-aided school. The head of this school says that the school still has some shortage of staff and teachers. We are addressing this issue. There will also be a discussion in the cabinet. The government will take necessary initiatives to fill the vacancies in government-aided schools,” he said.
At the event, the Chief Minister also said that many people who studied at Ramesh School have established themselves with glory not only in the country but also abroad.
The Chief Minister said that Rs 8 crore 51 lakh has been allocated for the development of the infrastructure of Ramesh School.
“The work of a new building and auditorium is underway. A synthetic football ground is being built here. We want to ensure the overall development of all the schools in the state because schools are like temples. If students, i.e., the future of the nation, are not given proper education, a gap will appear, and we have to be mindful of that. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the National Education Policy to improve the quality of the education system,” said Dr Saha.
Dr Saha further said at the event that the Prime Minister has repeatedly emphasized that education should not be just about reading books but should also be enriched with values, development, and nation-building ideas.
“To enrich spiritual matters, it is very important for children in all schools to practice meditation. For example, meditation should be done for at least 10 to 15 minutes before sports and also after sports. This gives rhythm to sports. India has the largest human resources between the ages of 18 and 35. The Prime Minister has also given great importance to this. He has started the exam pay practice program to relieve the pressure on students about exams,” said Dr Saha.
The Chief Minister said that the government is working towards improving the quality of the education system in the state.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Gomti Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Debal Debroy, MLA Jitendra Majumder, MLA Abhishek Debroy, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairman Sheetal Chandra Majumder, Gomati District Magistrate Rinku Lather, Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar K, Principal in-charge of Ramesh School, and other eminent persons were present as distinguished guests on the occasion.
