Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Thursday appealed to the people of the state to actively participate in the month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, launched by the state government to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s completion of 25 years in public service.
The Chief Minister made the appeal after visiting a blood donation camp organized at Pragna Bhavan, Agartala, by the 15 Tripura Battalion NCC in collaboration with the West Tripura District Magistrate’s office. He interacted with voluntary blood donors and encouraged citizens to participate in various programmes under the campaign.
Speaking to reporters, Dr Saha said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his public service journey as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001, and later became the Prime Minister of India. To commemorate 25 years of his public service, the state government has planned a series of programmes from September 17 to October 17.
The Chief Minister informed that blood donation camps are being organized across the state on Thursday as part of ‘Seva Divas’. He added that the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme will be held in the evening, where lamps will be lit at important locations across Tripura.
Dr Saha urged the people of the state to actively participate in the month-long initiative and make the campaign a success.
Those present on the occasion included MP Rajib Bhattacharya, officiating West Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Biswajit Shil, Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr Vishal Kumar, Director of Information and Cultural Affairs Bimbisar Bhattacharya, along with senior officials of the Health Department and NCC.
