Congress marks first anniversary of Bharat Jodo Yatra with rally in Agartala

The opposition Congress on Thursday afternoon organised rally at Agartala to mark the first anniversary of the Kanyakumari-to-Kashmir Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Last year's cross-country march witnessed Rahul Gandhi and several Congress leaders traverse over 4,500 kilometres and interact with a cross-section of society. Gandhi launched the yatra on September 7, 2022, in Kanyakumari. It ended on January 30 this year as Gandhi capped his ambitious 145-day journey in Srinagar.

In Agartala, slogans such as "Mehangai aur berozgari se nata todo, Bharat jodo", "Bharat judega, India jeetega" and "Congress ko lana hai, desh ko bachana hai" raised from the rally.

Hundreds of Indian Youth Congress, All India Mahila Congress and National Students' Union of India (NSUI) activists also participated in the rallies.

During the rally, speaking with media persons Tripura Pradesh Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha said, "The Bharat Jodo Yatra created a new revolution of love and peace as Rahul Gandhi's marathon yatra inflicted a heavy blow on the communal and political forces trying to create unrest and hatred in the country. For the Congress, the unity and integrity of the country is the foremost priority.

The Congress never ever allowed communal harmony to be disturbed in  the country  and  Congress will regain its preeminent position in the country very soon, said Saha.

AICC secretary Ms Szarita Laitphlang speaking in the rally said that all districts of Tripura along with entire nation on Thursday organizing rallies and meeting to mark the first anniversary of ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, which has begun of September 7, 2022 from Kanyakumari and after crossing 4500 kilometres and connecting crores of people f the country, the Yatra ended at Kashmir on January 30th, 2023 to united the people against hatred spread by BJP.

She said that Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi received tremendous response from cross-section of the society and the motive to united people against communal hatred to continue in coming days also.
