CPI (M) demands govt job for post 2018 political victim families

The opposition CPI (M) expressing their satisfaction over government jobs to family members of political murder victims has demanded similar jobs to the next kin of political victims, who were murdered after the year 2018.

CPI (M) state secretary and MLA Jitendra Chaudhury in a letter to the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday said that “pleased to learn that your government has taken a decision to provide salvation to the imperiled families who lost their members by violent attacks resorted to opposite groups only because of the political inclination of the victims”.

He said that the present state government has so far provided government jobs to 15 candidates of such victim families according to their educational qualifications.

Chaudhury enclosing a list of 29 victims along with their political identity and brief description of attacks, who have been murdered on political grounds since March, 2018 and said  that such a noble salvation package of the present state government should  not be confined only for those families who lost their members prior to 2018.

Chaudhury also requested the Chief Minister to consider providing government jobs to all the families of the victims of 29 persons, who were killed after 2018.

It may be recalled here that on Thursday, Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath during a press conference stated that as committed by the present state government before coming to power in 2018, so far the state government has provided jobs to 15 family persons of politically murder victims.

Nath after a meeting of the scrutiny committee to recommends jobs to the next kin of the victim of politically murdered person, said after BJP government came to power in 2018, the state government on December 23rd, 2020 has decided to give government jobs to the next kin of political murdered persons and as per the decision, the government has also formed a scrutiny committee.

He said that all the applications received by the government have been sent to a scrutiny committee for verification and recommendation for jobs.  The committee has received 26 applications for victim families of politically murdered persons and after verification, the committee has recommended government jobs to 15 persons, said Nath and added that as per the recommendation of the scrutiny committee, 15 persons are already given government jobs. The scrutiny committee in a meeting held on Thursday and after verifying six applications, has recommended government jobs to three more applicants, said Nath.
