Doctors of GBP Hospital completes successful caesarean of Alalika Chakma

A successful caesarean section of Alalika Chakma of Chawmanu was completed on midnight of 5th August, 2023 at GBP hospital. Both mother and newborn are healthy and safe after the caesarean section.

 Alalika Chakma of Chawmanu first went to Chawmanu and then Dhalai District Hospital to give birth on 5th August, 2023 and was referred to GBP Hospital as the situation became complicated. Asha worker Nita Devi brought them to GBP Hospital around 12:30 pm. Alalika Chakma's situation was very complicated then. The Chief Minister's secretariat has already been contacted by the patient's family.

Vice Principal of Agartala Government Medical College and Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr. Sanjib Debbarma was informed about the situation from the Chief Minister's secretariat and asked to take immediate action. Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Sanjib Debbarma took swift action. Then at midnight, a medical team led by Dr. Abhijit Shil and Dr. Pushpal Chowdhury performed a successful caesarean section on Alalika Chakma. Two bottles of A positive blood were also arranged for the patient from the hospital. Alalika Chakma and her newborn baby are healthy.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha congratulated the entire medical team for the safe delivery of Alalika Chakma's child despite difficult circumstances. Dr. Arthi Haridas, Dr. D Chhabra, Dr. Nilotpal, Dr. Payal Saha, Dr. Patis, Anesthetist Dr. Tapan Debbarma, Dr. Mohit, Staff Nurse Jyotika Chakma, O.T Assistant Rajiv Saha, O.T Assistant Alok Saha, Rinki Bhattacharya, Pratima Pal were present among others in the medical team.
