Elderly mother take police protection to get rid of physical attacks by her son

In a tragic incident, on elderly mother finally takes the protection of police after she is repeatedly physically abused by her son at Kalitilla area of Teliamura under Khowai district of Tripura.

Sources said that victim mother Gita Deb faces physical torture by her addicted son, Ruptanu Deb, by profession a driver. The relatives of Gita Deb said that often Ruptanu under the influence of drugs, physically torture his mother.

When he on Sunday night started torturing his mother, the hapless mother rushed to Teliamura police station and seeks protection to get rid off from daily physical torture by her son. Police, after receiving the complaint, arrested the accused son and has initiated legal action against Ruptanu Deb.

The disputes and attacks on the elderly family members have been increasing due to drug menaces and sometime it has also been noticed that disputes for properties have also been on the rise.

Often addicted youths physically attack their parents and other family members, when they are unable to get money to purchase drugs.

While, the state government through its ‘Nesha Mukta Abhijan’ has also stressed on awareness campaigns to alert students over the menaces of drugs.
