She also said that the mission of scouting is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law to help build a better world where people are self- fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society. “It is a matter of great satisfaction to know that Scouts and Guides are playing an active and important role in character building of the youth in Manipur and contributing in strengthening harmony, brotherhood and secularism. Besides this, Manipur Scouts and Guides has carried out many activities in the state including ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’, advanced courses for Scout Masters and Guides and various training courses outside the State”, she added.

The Governor also appealed to all to join hands together in the efforts to resolve this issue peacefully and amicably.

The Manipur Governor further said that Bharat Scouts and Guides is the country’s largest voluntary, non-political, uniformed youth organization and educational movement working in the field of character building of young boys and girls without any discrimination of caste, creed and religion. “Only education from text books cannot fulfil one’s knowledge, students should join organisations like, NCC, NSS, Scouts & Guides etc. to bring in knowledge through training, camps and visits so that their views of the world will become wider than before and will help in personality development”, she added.
