Govt has given highest priority to provide more employment opportunities to state’s youths, Tinku Roy

The present state government has always been alert and has given highest priority to provide more and more employment opportunities to the unemployed youths of the state, said  Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy.

Participating in the discussion over a private members resolution moved by the opposition CPI(M) MLA Nayan Sarkar over filling up of vacant posts in the first day of sixth session of 13th Tripura Assembly on Friday, the minister said that the state government has taken many initiatives to fill up vacant posts in all departments and after formation of the BJP government a transparent recruitment policy has been adopted and recruitment d=rives is going on as per the policy of the state government.

Giving details, Tinku Roy said that during the regime of the present government till December 31st, 2024, altogether 13,654 regular appointments have been released. Apart from these, a total of 2437 candidates have been selected for JRBT Group-D posts and soon their appointment letters will be released

Altogether 12,419 ‘irregular’ (fixed pay) posts has been released including 1,039 Anganwadi workers, 1,160 Anganwadi helpers, 1,262 SPOs and a total of 5,771 persons were appointed  through outsourcing and contractual, said Roy and added that government has also appointed 2987 persons as security guards and other services in government departments and in private organizations.

He said that the appointment process for recruitment of police Sub-Inspector (SI), 1916 constables. 6,067 Special Executives, 100 MPWs, 229 Physical Instructors, 304 firemen, 25 drivers are going on along with appointment of 2627 posts in various departments of the state government.

Roy also informed the House that the Industry and Commerce department in the last three years has generated employment for 40,070 people through various projects and TIDC has also generated 1617 employment. A total of 96 job fairs were organized across the state through National Career Service Projects and through these job fairs, a total of 2135 youths got employment in private sectors.

The Minister said that the government will continue its endeavour to provide more employment generation and opportunities for the state’s youths.

MLAs Sudip Roy Barman, Nirmal Biswas, Kishore Barman, Chittaranjan Debbarma and Ranjit Debbarma were also discussed and expressed their opinions in support of the resolution and in against the resolutions. Later, the private member resolution was unanimously rejected at the floor of the house.
