Guru Purnima celebrates with enthusiasm at CSU Ekalavya Campus

The auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima was celebrated with great reverence and enthusiasm at Central Sanskrit University, Ekalavya Campus, Lembucherra under West Tripura district on Thursday.
The programme commenced with the traditional Vyas Pujan, paying homage to Maharshi Vedavyasa, the epitome of wisdom and the compiler of the Vedas, symbolising the timeless ‘Guru-Shishya parampara’.
On this occasion, the campus took pride in felicitating Prof. Awadesh Kumar Chaubey, retired Professor and Former Head of the School of Philosophy, for his lifelong and distinguished contribution to the promotion of Sanskrit Shastras and Buddhist Philosophy. He was specially recognised for his innovative pedagogical approaches, which have immensely benefitted generations of students and scholars.
The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Makhlesh Kumar, Director of the Ekalavya Campus, who in his presidential address highlighted the profound role of Gurus in shaping the intellectual and moral fabric of society. He lauded Prof. Chaubey’s scholarly achievements and his enduring commitment to Sanskrit & Buddhist studies.
The event witnessed the participation of faculty members, scholars, students, and staff who expressed their deep respect and gratitude towards their Gurus, reiterating their dedication to uphold and propagate the rich legacy of Sanskrit learning.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and the chanting of Shanti Mantras, marking a spiritually uplifting and intellectually inspiring celebration.
