Land dispute: Sexagenarian man killed by two brothers over erection of fencing

Disputing fencing of boundary of two houses, one sexagenarian retired teacher died after he was allegedly thrashed by his neighbours at Tamasabari village under Sonamura subdivision of Sepahijala district on Sunday.

Sources said that despite sub-judice land dispute among retired teacher Nazir Ahmed Majumder (65) and his neighbours Sabeq and his brothers, on Sunday morning one Sabeq and his brother tried to construct a fencing at the disputed part of the land.

The retired teacher Nazir Ahmed Majumder and his wife raised their objection and requested them to stop the erection of fencing in the disputed land as it is a sub-judice matter.

Sources added that after a heated altercation, Sabeq and his brother started thrashing  Nazir Ahmed and he became unconscious and fell to the ground.

Immediately, his wife and other neighbours shifted him to Sonamura hospital and after serious endeavours by visiting doctors, Nazir Ahmed breathed his last.

After the tragic incident, the wife of the deceased man filed an FIR against Sabeq and his brother with murder charges.
