Madhurupa Memorial Cancer Welfare Society organized blood donation camp in Agartala
The Madhurupa Memorial Cancer Welfare Society (MMCWS) organized the RAQT Blood Donation Camp on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the Indian Red Cross Society Bhavan in Agartala. The camp was held as part of the Society’s social responsibility initiative, with a special focus on banking blood for cancer patients.
The programme was graced by Chandan Debnath, General Secretary of the Indian Red Cross Society, Tripura State Branch, who attended as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Mihir Bhattacharjee, Founding Father of MMCWS; Tanusree Das, President, MMCWS; Joysankar Bhattacharjee, Secretary, MMCWS; and Subhadip Bhattacharya, Managing Director, MMCWS. Representatives of various social organizations, volunteers, and members of the Indian Red Cross Society were also present and extended their support to the initiative.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from voluntary blood donors belonging to different age groups, reflecting strong community commitment towards saving lives. Medical teams ensured that the blood donation process was conducted in a safe, hygienic, and well-organized manner, strictly following all prescribed health protocols.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Shri Chandan Debnath lauded the efforts of the Madhurupa Memorial Cancer Welfare Society in organizing the camp and highlighted the importance of regular blood donation to meet the continuous demand, particularly for patients undergoing critical treatments. He also urged citizens to actively participate in such humanitarian activities.
Expressing the vote of thanks, Joysankar Bhattacharjee, Secretary of MMCWS, conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to all voluntary blood donors for their selfless contributions, which made the RAQT Blood Donation Camp a success. He also thanked the Indian Red Cross Society, medical professionals, volunteers, and supporting partners for their cooperation. The Society reaffirmed its commitment to continue working towards cancer care awareness, patient support, and community welfare through similar initiatives in the future.
The RAQT Blood Donation Camp marks a significant step towards strengthening blood banking for cancer patients, while also reinforcing Tripura’s healthcare support system and promoting a culture of compassion and social responsibility.
