Political activities have intensified in Dharmanagar ahead of the upcoming by-election, with the opposition CPI (M) organizing a massive rally and street meeting on Monday.
The rally, which began from morning from the Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Office, witnessed a large turnout of party supporters. It passed through several important areas of the town before culminating at the northern bank of Kalidighi, where a public meeting was held.
Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar attended the rally as the chief speaker.
