Minor girl raped by her neighbour, police arrested accused youth
After five days of massive search, the Agartala city police on Saturday managed to arrest one accused involved with rape of minor girl.
Giving details, SDPO(Sadar) Debaprasad Roy said that a parents of a minor girl registered a complaint at West Agartala women police station on May 19 last, that one of their neighbour by luring their seven years old daughter raped on May 9th, 2025 and threaten her not share anything with her parents.
This shocking incident came to light , when the minor girl developed multiple physical complicities on May 17 last and she was admitted to a local hospital in Agartala, where doctor confirmed the brutal abused on her, said SDPO and added that after all medical examinations, the parents of the victim minor girl lodged a specific complaint against one of their neighbour, identified as Prasenjit Paul of Dukli area.
Based on the complaint, police after massive search, finally on Saturday managed to arrested culprit Prasenjit Paul from his safe hideout and produced before a local court with police remand appeal under a specific case of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, (POCSO) and sections 65(2) and 352 (B) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police added that the condition of the victim, a minor girl, is now stable and she was also released from hospital.
