Mysterious death of young housewife in a flat, one youth arrested

In a dramatic development over the sensational and mysterious death of a housewife in a flat at Agartala on May 15 morning, the Agartala city police on Saturday (May 17) arrested one youth over suspicion of her murder.
On May 15, the blooded body of the housewife Anamika Acharya was recovered from a flat in the Durga Chowmuhani area of the capital city. Following the incident, the victim’s father filed a complaint with the West Agartala police station. Based on that complaint, the police from the West Police Station arrested a young man, identified as Sushanta Roy, staying in that same residential flat .
Police sources said that the deceased housewife Anamika Acharjee (25), wife of one Santanu Bhattacharjee, an employee of Axis Bank of Belonia branch was found dead in her bed with deep head injuries.
Police sources claimed that a preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased housewife had received blatant head injuries and fill the findings of forensic and autopsy reports, they cannot say anything specifically over the nature of the death. But, after the father of the deceased housewife, Mrinal Acharjee filed a complaint; police over suspicion had on Saturday morning arrested Sushanta Roy from that ‘Durga Apartment’ of Durga Chowmuhani.
Giving details Government lawyer Dilip Debnath said that based on different sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita(BNS), police on Saturday afternoon produced arrested Sushanta Roy before a local court in Agartala with five days police remand appeal for interrogation.
After hearing both defense and prosecution teams, the court sent him for five days police remand for interrogation and he will again appear before the court on May 22 next, said advocate Dilip Debnath.
While, husband of the deceased woman speaking with media persons said that on Thursday (May 15) early morning he left his flat towards his bank branch at Belonia in front of his wife. But, after reaching his work place, he learnt about the tragic incident and rushed to GB Hospital, where he found his wife already dead.
He also raised questions over the nature of the wife’s death and demanded proper police investigation.
Meanwhile, neighbours of the residential flat claimed that the deceased woman had developed an illicit relationship with another boy through Facebook and they suspected that the accused boy might have a concrete role in the mysterious death of Anamika Acharjee, who is also a resident of Durga apartment.
