Keeping in view of the ongoing election process for the Village Committees (VCs) of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), which is scheduled to be held on September 28 next, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the schedules of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Tripura.

Earlier, political parties including ruling BJP has submitted their deputations before the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Tripura with a request to extend the time-table for SIR in the state.

Considering the request of political parties and ongoing election process of VC polls, the Election Commission of India has revised the schedule for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Tripura, taking January 1, 2027 as the qualifying date.

According to a press statement issued by the office of the CEO, the revised schedule has been announced in view of the ongoing intensive revision of electoral rolls for the state’s Legislative Assembly constituencies.

As per the revised timeline, the preparation, training and printing process will be conducted from October 27 to November 5, 2026. The Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will undertake house-to-house visits from November 6 to December 5, 2026.

The rationalization and rearrangement of polling stations will be completed by December 5, 2026. The draft electoral roll will be published on December 12, 2026.

The period for filing claims and objections will remain open from December 12, 2026, to January 10, 2027. The period for disposal of claims and objections will run from December 12, 2026, to February 9, 2027. The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on February 15, 2027.
