Six thieves arrested with stolen gold jewelleries, cash amount by NCC police station
In a successful operation after a major theft incident in the areas of New Capital Complex (NCC) areas of Agartala, police managed to arrest six thieves involved in the incident and on Wednesday handed over all stolen items including cash, gold jewelleries and electronic items to its owner.
Giving details, officer-in-charge (OC) of NCC Police station, Prajit Malakar said that few days ago, one Nabajoy Tripura, who stayed in a rented house at Abhoynagar area of Agartala city went to his office at morning 10.30 AM and when he returned back to house in the afternoon, he found suspected thieves raided his house and looted all valuable gold items, cash amount and some electronic household items.
Later, he lodged a complaint at the police station and police registered the case, started investigation, said Malakar and added during reviewing of local CCTV footage, they managed to identify one suspected thief (Biki Tanti of Radhanagar area) and arrested him.
Based on the interrogation statement of arrested Biki Tanti, the investigation police team managed to arrest five other thieves from different parts of Agartala city, they were identified as Goutam Sarkar, Amin Miah, Dausher Miah, Sumit Das and Aniket Das. Police have also managed to recover all stolen items under their possessions including gold and cash, said OC.
Later, all of them were produced before a local court and the court sent them to jail custody.
He said that on Wednesday based on the order of the court, the NCC police station handed over all stolen items to its owner Nabajoy Tripura.
