Spear Corps observed ‘World Environmental Health Day’ at Army pre-primary school
Agartala Military station under the aegis of the Spear Corps commemorated the occasion of ‘World Environmental Health Day’ at Army Pre-Primary School (APPS), Agartala, on 26 Sep 2024.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from future generation towards creating an eco-friendly environment. The school ground buzzed with energy as 26 students and army personnel carried out a plantation drive and planted around 100 saplings encompassing diverse array of fruits bearing saplings, native trees and vibrant flowering plants. This hands-on activity not only educated the children about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance but also fostered a deep sense of responsibility and satisfaction in contributing towards preserving the nature. The event concluded with all participants taking a pledge to save trees and adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.
The motive of the event was to mark this ‘World Environmental Health Day’ to be the turning point in our race to restoration. These events helped in nurturing the sense of realization among the people that it is the time to move from committing to action to acting on commitments to prevent, halt & reserve ecosystem degradation. Spear Corps will continue to conduct such event to increase awareness and contribute to the society and the nation.
