Three-month old boy dies for alleged medical negligence in GB Hospital
In another instance of gross medical negligence by on-duty junior doctors in Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and GB Hospital, posted in the pediatric ward, a three months old infant died on Thursday morning.
Sources said that three months old child (Tushar Tanti) of one Sujit Tanti, staying in Indranagar area of Agartala as tenant, actually hails from Chebri village of Khowai district was admitted his child to pediatric ward of the hospital about fortnight ago, who was suffering from breathing problems.
After two weeks of treatment at the pediatric ICU of the hospital, the child Tushar Tanti was discharged on December 28 last. But, after two he again developed the same breathing problems and on December 30th, his parents again admitted him in the hospital.
Giving details of his last treatment in the hospital, one of relative of the deceased child said that on January 1st night, the child again developed severe breathing problems and after repeated appeals from patient party to on-duty doctor of the pediatric word, none of them responded and does not provide him breathing support including oxygen to normalize his breathing.
Finally, on Thursday morning, the child succumbed due to his breathing problems. Disheartening parents of the deceased child narrated entire episodes of his treatment process at the hospital and also complaints over medical negligence as reasoned for the death of their 3-months old child.
Aggrieved relatives of the deceased child have also lodged their complaints before hospital authorities and appealed to them to protect the newborns.
